Challenges and Sketches

Greetings! I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend! It's already Saturday evening, time literally flew by. I've been away for awhile but I'm back and I'm ready to get busy. I've given myself homework so that I can also have a project to work on. Needless to say, I haven't completed any of my assignments, because I've been busy doing other things. I love scraping but I haven't really had much of a mojo lately. Anyway, on to better things. Sketches!! I love sketches and challenges, challenge sketches, I just love it all. Today, I want to share a few challenges with you.

These are the challenges that I followed/wanted to follow:

1. Citrus Twist Sunday Sketch Challenge

2.Citrus Twist Recipe Challenge

3. Counterfeit Kit Challenge

4. Scrap our Stash Challenge - I find this one to be challenging but I'm up for the challenge

There are a few more but I only wanted to list to get your juices flowing. Now, onto the fun!!!

I'm going to share 3 layouts that I created. Most of the items used came from the Scrapbook Cards and Magazine summer kit. There are also items from my stash. Sorry about the photos, I forgot to edit them before I added them. :(

I used one of my stamps and the blush crush mist from Studio Calico

This layout was a lot of fun. I wanted to get rid of those thickers because they'd been sitting in my stash for a while. I added an interactive element to this layout because I had many pictures that I wanted to share.

Studio Calico Pop Art collection- I can't say that this was one of my favorite kits. It was really difficult to work with the colors and embellishments. Oh, there is also a group of us on the Studio Calico website that are trying to only use what we got in our kits. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back soon to share more challenges and sketches. Speaking of sketches, I couldn't find the link for a site that has complied 300 sketches from different artists. When I find it, I'll be sure to share it. Happy scrapping!

Throw-Back Wednesday

Greetings!

It's been way too long since my last post! The weather has been really strange...We've had a hot day here, a cold morning there and another hot day. I don't think that my body can keep up with the weather. I've been sick, my daughter has been having asthma trouble, it's just been a mess. I look forward to weather stability!

Anyway, this post is called throw back Wednesday for a reason. I no longer have a huge stash because my supplies are in the states. However, I do have a small box of papers that I've basically been hording. I didn't use most of them because they were too cute to use. Slowly but surely, I'm getting out of the 'too cute to use' stage. I raided my stash and found this really cool paper. I decided that it's been sitting too long and I HAD to use it. I initially used it for a challenge. The challenge called for banners, labels and something else..Anyway, enough about that, it's on to the good stuff.

I found this pack of rub-ons by Crate paper. The gold hearts are from Studio Calico  7 collection.

The challenge called for black mist, since I didn't have any I used Blush Crush from Studio Calico. It didn't work but it was worth a shot.
Thanks a ton for stopping by! :) I definitely plan on returning with my Throw-back series! :) Happy Scrapping!

P.S. By the way if you are interested in a Studio Calico subscription click me. You will get 500 Studio Calico points just for signing up. Check it out!

Makeover challenge

I'm all about challenges! In fact, I love them. I love doing anything that will get my creative juices flowing. Today's post is a layout that I created for the Hero Arts makeover challenge. I found a layout that I liked and made it over using Hero Arts stamp CL148. I don't know it's name because I cut the package. Anyway, on to the good stuff!

Those are the photos side by side. I used the HA stamp to create a border. I also used really old items from my stash. Thanks for stopping by!

Daily Layout Challenge Day???

Greetings!!

I've given up on my challenge. I've gotten so busy that I haven't had much to to scrap. By the time I get time I only have time to get dinner going and then prepare for the next day. It won't be as hectic next week. Phew! So, I did have time yesterday to throw something together.

This layout is based on the sketch that I used. I altered the sketch quite a bit however, I stayed true to the layout. I made this layout with goodies from the Scraptastic Club. It's from their June kit.

I used papers that were exclusive to Scraptastic Club. I also mixed die cuts from the poolside collection and a collection that I can't remember.

I hope that you enjoyed my LO. :)

My first sketch!

Greetings!

Today, I decided to create a sketch. I usually go to sketches when I'm in need of inspiration. I love sketches because you can take as much as you want from it. You can flip them, change or even add things. With sketches the possibilities are endless. Please feel free to use my sketch however, please link back to my blog. If you decide to use it, let me know! I'd love to see what you did with it. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Daily Layout Challenge Day 2

Hello again!

I didn't create a layout, instead I started working on a mini album. I didn't decorate the inside, I only made the front and back covers. I must admit that I really like the covers. I don't have many supplies that will go with my color pattern. I'm thinking of ways to create my own embellishments. I'll have to check YouTube for inspiration. Let me know if you have any sights that you use to create embellies.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Daily Layout Challenge Day 1

I've decided to challenge myself to not only blog daily, but to create a project each day. I'm going to step out of my comfort zone, try new things, and post my results. I don't know if my projects will be as amazing as I'd like them to be, but I'm going get busy working in my space. I've been in a bit of a slump lately. It's taken me 2 days to finish my last two layouts. It never takes that long! I'm usually able to sit at my desk and just create for hours. That's the main reason that I decided to challenge myself. Well, anyway, let's enjoy the ride together! :)

This is the layout that I finished this morning. When I sat down, I just felt like I needed to add something else. I then decided to just leave it like it was. I didn't want my decorations to overwhelm my pictures.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Recently, I decided to submit my work to be considered for Dear Lizzy's design team. At first, I wasn't going to do it because I didn't think that what I've done was good enough.  However,  I submitted my designs anyway. I still have a lot of learn to do but I am happy with that I've done. I picked a few of my layouts that I had recently finished. There was a lot a layout that I made specifically for this submission. I can't wait to find out the results. Even if I'm not chosen, I'm happy that I decided to submit.
I used this to enter a contest. The theme was something from your everyday life.

A very fun time at Ohira Village park.

We made our own sushi rolls.

3 to inspire challenge

Greetings!

This week has flown by! I can't believe that the weekend is almost at my door. I'm really into challenges, sketches and anything that will get my inspiration going. As I said before I'm a member of Citrus Twist Kits. I really love this club because they always have ways to incite inspirations. I participated in the latest 3 to inspire which required me to use a medium, at least 5 squares and layered stickers. Even if you are apart of the club, it's still fun to play along!
This is my take on the challenge. I really enjoyed experimenting with various elements to create that effect. I hope that I've shared a bit of inspiration! Happy scrapping!

Sketch Challenge

Greetings!

Love working with sketches. They are fun, versatile and offer tons of inspiration. I often find myself stumped over what I should create. Whenever I feel that way, I always look to challenges and a few of my favorite blogs. Ever week Studio Calico has a sketch challenge. I find that I can really get my creative juices flowing by challenging myself to complete sketches. What about you? Do you have any go to sites or blogs when you are short of inspiration?

This link will take you to the blog post about this challenge.

This is my take on the sketch using the Pop Art kit from Studio Calico. The sketch actually required 6 photos but I decided to just use three and to change the direction of the tag. I tried to stick as close to the original as possible.

I hope that I've offered you a bit of inspiration! Happy Scrapping!

Welcome to Scrap the Scene

Greetings!

I'm a huge lover of paper crafting! I decided to share my love of paper crafting, scrapbooking, kit clubs and stamping. I hope to also post reviews of kit clubs that I have subscribed to. This first post will be about the kits that I'm currently subscribed to.  At the moment I'm a member of 3 kit clubs: Citrus Twist, Studio Calico and Scraptastic Club.

I've been with Citrus Twist since May of this year. This club has been one of my favorites.  I have yet to receive my August kit but it is full of goodies! I normally receive 3~4 pieces of cardstock, about 6 pieces of patterned paper, wood chips, alphas, stickers, a stamp set, a cut out and many other things. You get all of this for $26 (6 month commitment) or $29 (3 month commitment) which is a great deal. They will even ship internationally! Oh, if you decide to buy something from the store, it will be shipped with your kit at NO extra cost!! They have a PL kit, stamp kit and many other add-ons. Since I've been a member, I have never been disappointed.

August Kit
I signed up with Studio Calico because of their July promotion. I must admit that the July kit was HORRIBLE! Okay, I shouldn't exaggerate but it was disappointing. Everything just felt cheap. I didn't feel like the items were worth the price. But, August was much better. I like the Pop Art kit but I still feel like I'm not getting my money's worth. I'm used to getting a nice amount of embellies that I can use without buying the add-ons. With this kit, I feel like I'm a bit limited in what I can do. It's still a nice kit though. If you are interested in Studio Calico and decide to sign up. Use this link so that we can both earn 500 Calico points.  You can use to points just as you could a gift card. You earn them with every qualified purchase that you make. I like saving money any way that I can. :)
August kit

The last kit that I'll share is the Scraptastic Club. What I like about this club is that you can choose from two separate kits. I love the freedom in being able to pick the kit that I like the most. :) Each kit comes with 4 pieces of cardstock, 6 patterned papers, flairs, wood pieces, alphas, die cuts and so many other things. There are also add-ons, stamps and other things that you can add on to the set.

Anyway, thanks for reading! I hope that you'll become apart of the kit club family. :) Happy Scrappin'!
